Myrmes (BGG Link)

I got to play Myrmes twice this past Saturday in a 2 player configuration. The first game, we were still trying to get oriented to the rules and both suffered from the game curve that smacked you at the end of the game — not enough food. However, the second game was a blast. I think the theme and artwork are fantastic. The game play is really smooth although I think slightly fiddly with workers and soldier ants. I am not sure what the purpose of those miniatures are, but who knows maybe we were playing it wrong. The game is a work placement style game, which I always enjoy. The seasonal aspect with dice reminds me of Kingsburg and beautifully melds to the game mechanics. I would like to see the game played with more players. I would definitely buy this one for my collection.
