A turn consists of rolling your customized character dice. You can continue to roll as many times as you wish. However, if you roll any biohazards on any of the dice, those dice are locked and the Infection Level rises. Raising the infection level may trigger an epidemic thereby taking any treated dice and along with new diseases and redistributing them back onto the continents. During your turn you can move from continent to continent using either ships or planes. You can treat diseases, which moves a die from the continent to the Treatment Center. You can also sample diseases in the Treatment Center. These samples are used to find a cure. Having many dice in the same color will increase your odds on finding a cure for that disease, which is done by rolling all diseases of a color and scoring a 13 or higher. Samples lock your customized dice thereby reducing the number of actions you can take in a turn, but the samples can be shared between players if they are on the same continent. Once a cure is found, locked dice are returned to their respective owners. Each player has special abilities that are represented on their respective customized dice (i.e. Medic can treat three diseases with one action). At the end of a turn, players will continue to spread the disease by randomly drawing disease dice from a bag based on the infection level, and rolling them for their location. If the fourth die of the same color is added to a continent, an outbreak occurs and spreads to the next continent. Players do have the assistance of specialized CDC powers that can be used during the game to help mitigate the risks.
