Game Review: Lighthouse Ambush

Lighthouse Ambush (BGG Link)

Lighthouse Ambush is a children’s game where the players are attempting to construct lighthouses before the boat filled with voles arrives onto the island. The game is a cooperative dice game whereby players roll two dice and either advance the boat closer to the island, place a level onto one of the lighthouses, or move Wally around the island (for each lap completed you get to build one level for free). The game is a very fun game to play with your children. For my 3.75 y/o, it can maintain his attention even though he thinks the boat landing on the island before the lighthouses are built is a good thing — which it is not. As a parent, it is good to play a cooperative game with my son. Another winner in my book from Haba.

Rating: 8/10

*** Special thanks to Labyrinth Games in Washington, DC (@labyrinthdc) – I try to take my son to this store at least once a month to pick out a game. He loves the children’s game table. The sales people are very friendly. ***
